2012 Training day 123: 15K moderate

I got painful and cramps after 11K. Slowing down did not help. Walking did not help. I had to walk slowly or stop altogether. The pain is on the right of my stomach. I need to understand this phenomenon because its a major threat. At some point I seriously considered appendicitis.
Hmmmmmm...speedwork kesho.

I have discovered the possible cause of my cramps (in order of decreasing likelihood):
1. Agressive use of roller the previous day.
2. Improper breathing.
3. Inadequate warm up before the run.
4. Taking of water a few minutes into the run.
Thats it. I will look into it.

And it was not of the stitch variety and to do with intake of fluid prior to the run? Is there a history of this happeing before?

On a separate note, there's debate on which one is the most gruelling of the famous marathons = NY,Boston,London etc etc. Your take?

Debate where? Boston is the toughest course. NYC is the hottest. London is a piece of cake. Even WR can be broken there. Its not a stitch. A stitch is a walk in the park. This happened to me on 20th may at 12Kms. Its veeeery painful. Thanks.

Ok Boss, if this has happened before, you possibly need to have it checked out. Pole sana. I wonder what that could be? Google Search pull up anything relevant?
Debate amongst some runners in my jogging club. What's the toughest world over?

Toughest the world over? I dont know but its likely to be Boston. Locally its Ndakaini. There are tougher ones, like races where people run in a spiral route towards a mountain top, but those are not recognized standard marathon routes.

Jogging club? When do you guys want to start running? Visit letsrun.com sometime and see how joggers are handled.

I have ruled out appendicitis. Phew!

Thank goodness. Was worried for a moment there. Yes we have a jogging club at the gym where I go. We run twice a week in the mornings. Will visit letsrun and see. Yes Ndakaini is the mother of them all. What with hills staring at one in the face at a perpendicular angle :)
All the best and keep us posted.
